This is news that really angers me. It looks like the ngolops are not planning to leave Bhutan in peace. I pray the RBP makes a good break through on this case and quickly catches the people behind this.

KOL BREAKING NEWS20 January, 2008 - Four bomb blasts took place between 11.10am and 2.10pm in four different dzongkhags today, including one in the capital, Thimphu.

The first blast went off at 11:10 am near the vegetable market in Samste dzongkhag. There were no reported injuries or damages to property.

The second blast took place at 11:45 am in Thimphu town, behind the SNS restaurant. The impact of the explosion shattered the window panes of buildings in the area and unnerved shopkeepers, residents, and passersby in the area but no injuries were reported.

At 1:20 pm a third blast occurred near the gate of the Tala Guest House in Gedu, in Chukha dzongkhag. A woman who was hit by a splinter on her right leg was admitted in the Gedu Hospital.

At 2:10 pm the fourth blast occurred in Dagapela, in Dagana dzongkhag, behind the house of Passang Tshering. A second explosive device, which did not go off, was found in the same area. There was no injury to any person or damage to property in the blasts in Samtse and Dagapela.

A spokesman for the Royal Bhutan Police, who are investigating the blasts, said that one of the three militant organizations based in Nepal, the Bhutan Tiger Force, the Bhutan Maoists Party, and the Communist Party of Bhutan was suspected to be behind these bomb blasts.

yes the bombs did go of in 4 different dzongkhags and it was well planned....i think the security points in Chudzom, Tanalom and so on has to be very strict...till date they have been strict on tobaccos....tobaccos harm only the consumers not the public where as the bomb destroys teh public....my greatest concern is that whether our police can identify a bomb...i dont think our police are well educated regarding teh bombs....what i feel is that only if people carry dynamite (dozay) and grenades our police might be able to identify it...but what about those home made bombs.... do they know what a C4 is i doubt.....i feel that our police might pass through a nuclear bomb....after the black sunday our police has been very strict specially at teh checkpoints....they just peep through the door and lets the cars pass....moreover the CD cars, landy are still roaming freely....in times like this i think Bhutan should really tighten our security.....they should do through checking not only the cars but the people driving them also......as a concerned citizen i am really sorry to point out that the police are not doing a good job....in Thimphu luckily there was not a second bomb if there was i guarantee there would have been atleast 100 casualties....instead of locking the bomb site down people were alll gathered around teh scene.....i think its high time that Police start a K9 unit...those well trained altasians...but first thing first we have to train our police than the dogs otherwise the dogs might be smarter than our police men.....i feel that security points has to be very strict.... insurgents has already infiltrated Thimphu...that shows how tight our security’s are.....we the bhutanese people always wait for some warning.....they never prevent.....spokesman from police said that it could be EITHER Bhutan Tiger Force, Bhutan Maosist party and COmmunist Party of Bhutan....well what i personally feel is that our police are shooting in the dark....later what of some other party claims it....than i feel that our police force really needs some re-shuffling....lastly are the Dzongs and the offices safe......

This bomb blasts are a reminder that we Bhutanese must remain vigilant. We are lucky the human toll was not there this time but who can say the next time. Security forces and citizens must be vigilant and if we catch these ngolops behind these bomb blasts we may be able to prevent reoccurence. United we stand!!
