If at all you need BICMA to intervene, it should be to ban such posts as this one!

kunchusum, LAM could mean many things....some are title and some could be their own name....so as long as he is not wearing teod-tsi-sham-thog...i think he has the right to take part.....i dont think he is a monk is he.......like Karma Lam Dorji he is not a monk he is a bball professional...and Gonglen Lam Dorji he too is not a monk he is a General.....

palden drukpa, silk road & pretender.
can u guys open up bit and see things through. firstly i didn’t accuse Lam kesang in any way. just wanting to know what his name Lam stands for. u guys are pain in the ass. u can’t take healthy discussion. may be we don’t get such a buch of u guys in our so called democarcy, who do not know what is healthy criticism and will never bring the positive change we are looking for.

If you were not accusing, what were you doing? I think the question is preety simple. Even a primary kid could understand. Your point is that Lam Kesang should not be a part of PDP for his name...what more did you mean...That is all we can understand from what you have written (I am sure its in English). Or is it some other language that we couldn’t understand? No offense…

i have to moderate in place of lazy moderator so

i think each person has expressed his/her oopinion but didnt bother to explain. the peson raising the issue is saying ‘if lam kesang is a lama/ordained monk then he cant participate in politics” the people replying are saying ‘lam is his name just like lam dorji or karma lam’. Both are opinions both are wrong. according so some article in one of the papers which did a profile on this man, poeple call him lam like a title because his father was a impportant lama locally but it became like his name because he is not actually a lama. So it is like the dasho title that many people carry - they get it beacuese of their relations, family or post but carry it arround like its a title but its not - confusing?

not as confusing as where he showed up from to lead the party organization

Karma Lam Dorji is more qualified than a BBall professional. He is an architect by profession and the senior most. So stop being half baked and stop pretending!

WHAT’S IN A NAME, AFTERALL? whether he is called a lam, donkey, azha, acho or whatever.. he will remain the person he is. i think we shouldn’t be too bothered about his name unless one is too curious.

Hello elites,

Let me clarify on this LAM issue- Read this properly.....the defination of a LAM (which is a short version of Lama):
Here it goes in Dharma Language “Tse woi thukey lhana med Ching, maa chhikpay, butar tsewai na LAM”.  I guess I dont need to translate in English.

Specifically, in the case of PDP’s general secretary, his title corresponds to that of a literal meaning of a Lama.  Since his action and motivation deviates from the actual defination by joining politics (which is totally against the buddhist principles-meditation, compasstion & devotion), he does not do justice to his title “Lam”.  He simply deserves the title “Mal” which can be meant malpractices in short instead of Lam.

While coming to Karma Lam and Goonglen Lam or any other Lams, I could say that it is the delapidated form or incorrect language.  Their names could have beem Lhamo.  If we say Lamo it is incorrect because Lamo is a feminine name and they are musculine.

So the Lam in case of PDP coordinator is totally different from that of a Lam of basketball professional and the general.

Any comments?

He is the son of well known AJA LAM - Dorji Tenzin. And the name doesn’t matter much in the politics if he doesn’t wear RED robe.
