Commentary on Shangrila’s Leaders by apwangdrugay that initially appeared in http://www.bhutantimes.com put there by akudruk with commentary by Lhagello

Apwangdrugay writes:
he is a doma chewing cigarette stinking accountant (this one is easy but the replies of the wise old men were too short and simple on this wise old man). he is unpredictable. sometimes he takes strong stands but usually he is invisible. the ricb case is an example of a leader who won’t look after those he leads - who is he?

Answer and commentary by Lhagello: The Finance Minister, Lyonpo Wangdi Norbu.
I know very little about him except that he bums Doma from everyone in meetings...maybe the ‘accountant’ does fit him right..but again...he has to be stingy…

My analysis
I do not know LWN to comment but he does not seem to be an effective leader. Can he even win his constituency?

Apwangdrugay writes:
he (this one is even easier) is the one whose head is always inside the backside of the balding man. no wonder he has to take refuge in the ‘elixir of life, wine’. Is he the brain behind the bald man? we have heard of men having their brains in the wrong head but never of a man with his brain in his ass! - who is he?

Answer and commentary by Lhagello: The Health minister, Lyonpo Dr. Jigme Singye. He has been known to be very cunning, equally or more cunning than our chalu down there and also someone who does not forgive an injury...a vengeful man, so be careful there....I know a couple of people who suffered becoz of that.

My analysis
I do not know LJS to comment but I hear that he is very popular in the east and has stopped drinking.

Apwangdrugay writes:
he is somebody of whom nobody knows where he stands on any issue. nor do we know where others stand in their feelings for him. he is truly a smooth operator. known for being a ladies man AND men’s man (not in the macho sense of the word). he is fit, fancies a game of golf, looks after his appearance. he has a permanent group of admirers we were told by Shingi-Taa the caddy from the golf course but we’ll leave that story for young taa to tell – who is he?

Answer and commentary by Lhagello: Foreign Minister, Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuk.
Again nice description, I know a couple of his relatives and they are cursing him for not helping them with their career prospects (using his influence)...I applaud him for that, though I feel sorry for his relatives.... he is a man of principle but also very cunning and hence the name...Chalu Khandu.

My analysis
LKW has great reputation for womanizing. There are more stories of such exploits than Supandi tales.

Lets take each personality and analyze your stand as well as mine and let the others judge what they think of us. As far as possible I will try to maintain an objective view in my comments.
Yes indeed, I have heard of Lyonpo Khandu and his libido and from the way you have writteen, it sounds like a man with no past history of affairs with women other than their lawfully wedded wife should lead our country. In an ideal world, yes, our leaders should have the moral character and ethical stand to showcase the best of Bhutan but we do not live in an ideal world and as far as i stand, LSN, your ideal man to lead Bhutan forward is equally notorious when it comes to his bedroom antiques. Answer me, how many marriages did LSN have and how many did LKW have? Further, if fidelity is to be the measuring stick to measure our leaders, then Bhutan would have no leaders.

Coming to the positive points about LKW, I would definitely look at his style of no nonsense approach to any issue. I have worked with him before and I know what a true decision maker is. You only have to look at the success of Bhutan’s energy negotiations (vizaviz. substations and wheeling charges) with India to look at LKW’s success. He is also known as a man of principles and who will not indulge in nepotism (smoething that LSN wishes he had). In the same calibre, LKW was not born with a silver spoon, as far as story goes, he was supposed to have left home at an early age and returned only upon completion of his studies, only because his family did not have the resources to visit him nor for him to come back home during the studies.

LKW is also known as a man with simple tastes and it goes to show why he has only 1 simple house in which he lived since the time when he was a director till now when he is a minister; compare this to the wealth of LSN. They both got into the civil service around the same time, so my question would be, where did LSN get all his property from? I know about the divorce settlement and the Motithang hotel, but I am talking about the others. Think about it Tenzin D. Norbu.....or should I call you Tshering Tobgay????? An online name fools no one.

Dear Lhagello, do not get personal. Stick to the facts. I am neither a PDP supporter nor telling lies about other ministers. Even I were, what does it matter, you are blatantly badmouthing LSN and the PDP. If you stick to facts, it may be alright but you are spinning a web of lies and spitting venom and hatred. I am only commenting and analysing on your commentatries. I was not saying that Lyonpo Khandu is the only man who does not honour his marriage vows, just that I heard a lot of jokes about his infidality. I agree with you that womanising may be forgiven in Bhutanese politics but I hope our leaders and pontential leaders do not believe that this will always be so. The voters will value family values and value systems. Without that, how can we be better than dogs and other animals.

as part time and junior moderator i am called to gather the ruins after the battle and assign the points/prizes to both sides of the issue.

here as always whether on bhutantimes or other sites, people end up fighting over one thing and forget the rest.
the article is a humourous piece on the future leaders of political parties not about SN and JYT alone
while they seem to be the main people, it is surely all of bhutanese citizen’s hope that we have more leaders than these two.
democracy is break from the past and even one king has resigned to bring in another completely new and young one
why we are fighting over two old horses who have not proved anything is beyond apwangdrugay’s great and vast intelligence
the great crime the young people on this forum are guilty of is that they are not even mentioning one young man or woman they think should be in politics.
why they are not discussing what young new leaders can do and only talking of old ministers is crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

oh please note difference between me apwangdrugay and Ap Wangdrugay, he is physical reincranation and i am speech reincarnation

None of the present serving ministers deserve to be in the new cabinet. They have served their usefulness. I will be be voting for the party that fields minimum of the present serving ministers.
